ROBOVERB

Robotic reverb at your finger tips...

Not the greatest reverb (on purpose)

Ever wanted that tingy, slappy reverb... IDK like for a creepy effect? Roboverb is the plugin for You.

If you're looking for something smooth and realistic, then run... run far away from Roboverb, as it surely will attempt assimilation.

The design is based on a Schroeder digital model. This metalic reverb has 8 Comb Filters which feed into 4 All Pass filters. The catch is the switches can toggle them on or off and the not-so-secret sauce lies within the tuning of filter chain.

OS Version Formats
Linux - LV2 / CLAP / VST / LADSPA
macOS 10.8 and up VST3 / VST / AU
Windows XP and up VST / VST3

Features

  • Filter Switches: A defining feature of Roboverb is the inclusion of switches to toggle each of the 8 Comb Filters and 4 All Pass Filters on or off individually. This allows for radical alterations of the reverb's tonal characteristics and is a primary contributor to its "robotic" effects. By selectively enabling or disabling filters, users can drastically change the frequency response and character of the reverb tail.
  • Unique Filter Tuning: The "not-so-secret sauce" of Roboverb lies in the specific and deliberate tuning of its internal filter chain. This tuning is what imparts the metallic and often "creepy" quality to the reverb sound.
  • Emphasis on Simplicity: The plugin is designed to be relatively straightforward with a minimal set of controls. The focus is on making drastic sound changes through the filter switches rather than a multitude of adjustable numerical parameters.
  • Non-Realistic Reverb: Roboverb is explicitly not intended to emulate natural spaces. Its purpose is creative and experimental reverb effects, making it suitable for adding unique textures and character to audio.
  • Compact Interface: The plugin is designed to be small in size, preserving screen real estate within a digital audio workstation (DAW).
